Arrow ACT Masters: An Environment of Innovation
GDCA enjoyed the privilege of being a part of this year’s Arrow Electronics ACT Masters 2013 in Denver CO. Arrow’s technical sales force was trained in a centralized fashion while suppliers got a first glimpse of Arrow’s strategy and technical roadmap. This year’s theme celebrated the spirit of innovation by acknowledging the expertise of Arrow’s employees, customers, partners and suppliers, and how their collaborative efforts create amazing things in the field of electronics. Arrow’s mythical “Innovators Club” advertising campaign features famous inventors from the past, as well as modern day future innovators, and recognizes that every idea improves every other idea. Innovation is a result of collaboration and applies new solutions to an existing need.
Legacy product support is an existing need, and while most companies strive to implement an ideal obsolescence management policy, we at GDCA have learned over many years that managing obsolescence “better” is not as effective as managing legacy “different.” With focus on legacy support, we engage our partners, customers and distributors early on to understand the big picture and all associated technical and political challenges. Through various stages of planning, design, testing and manufacturing to original specifications, we have the resources and expertise to not only tailor individual solutions that extend the life of legacy products for as long as they are needed, but also to generate residual revenue from products thought of as having little value left.
We will never be the next Edison or da Vinci, but if we can help you solve obsolescence problems by utilizing our different methodology, you might just refer to us as “the Innovators of Proactive Legacy Support.”
