Using OEM-authorized IP and original specifications, GDCA provides repair, long-term customer support, manufacturing, and sustainment for over three thousand End-of-Life, COTS, and custom-embedded computer boards and systems.

Is there life after obsolescence?

Usually before an embedded board is discontinued by the OEM, the component supply chain has already begun to destabilize. In most cases, it is these component obsolescence events that make it impossible for OEMs to continue supporting their older products.

Current approaches and processes that work great for active products break down, because the assumptions that drive proven operationalized ways of working become as obsolete as the discontinued products themselves.

Determining whether a discontinued product can be sustained is not simple and goes way beyond scrambling to determine how many obsolete parts you need before the last-time-buy window closes. Real and effective sustainment solutions need a different approach.
